Full-Day Program

Innovate CampWhat is innovation? Where do good ideas come from? Join MOHAI and PSC to explore innovations from the past, develop brilliant ideas for the future, and discover what it takes to become a master innovator. Spend mornings at MOHAI and the Bezos Center for Innovation, where campers learn about the special skills that help innovators get creative and think differently. Campers then walk to Pacific Science Center to spend afternoons discovering the science behind great ideas. Investigations include solar power, wind energy, and bridge design to find out how science is fueling innovation of the future.

  • Ages: Entering grades 4 - 6
  • Dates: July 11 - 15, 2016
  • Hours: 9 am - 4:30 pm
  • Cost: Before April 30: $385 for MOHAI and PSC members/$415 for non-members until April 30; After April 30: $415 member/$445 non-member
  • Registration: Begins March 2; early registration for MOHAI and PSC members opens February 25

Scribes Writing Camp

Museum of History & Industry and Hugo House
Camp takes place at MOHAI
Full-Day Program

In summer 2016, MOHAI teams up with Hugo House to offer their popular Scribes program at the museum. Scribes Writing Camp is an opportunity for middle- and high-school students to engage intensely with creative writing, develop their craft, learn from accomplished guest artists, and discover a diverse range of genres, forms, and writers. The Scribes Camp will include a special public reading of students’ work on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 4.

  • Ages: Young people completing grades 8 - 12
  • Dates: July 25 - August 5, 2016 (Monday - Friday)
  • Hours: 10 am - 4 pm
  • Cost: $725; Need-based full and partial scholarships, as well as payment plans are available

Museum of History & Industry and Seattle Children's Theatre (SCT)
Camp takes place at MOHAI
Full-Day Program

Trailblazers CampThere’s an adventure this summer at MOHAI on Lake Union Park, and the museum needs kids' help to get moving! During daily adventures throughout the museum, campers examine mysterious artifacts and photographs while exploring the history of how people traveled by foot, boat, railroad, airplane, and more. Campers will build model boats, read books about historic journeys, and dream up new forms of transportation for the future. SCT teaching artists along with campers produce and act in an interactive, dramatic story to discover and create new ways to travel through field and forest, across mountains, over oceans and into the skies.

  • Ages: Entering grades 2 - 3
  • Dates: August 8 - 12, 2016
  • Hours: 9 am - 4 pm (drop off between 8:45 am - 9 am, pick up between 4 pm – 4:15 pm); Extended care offered evenings only, 4 pm – 5 pm.
  • Cost: Before May 31: $310; After May 31: $335
    5% discount offered to MOHAI members and SCT subscribers. Extended care is $50/week or $12/day.
    Financial aid available based on need.

Seafaring Adventure

Museum of History & Industry, The Center for Wooden Boats (CWB), SS VIRGINIA V, and Northwest Seaport
Camp takes place at MOHAI, CWB, and the Historic Ships Warf at Lake Union Park
Full-Day Program

Seafaring CampEmbark on a seafaring adventure this summer at Lake Union Park. This week-long camp takes place on land and in boats on the waters of Lake Union. Campers explore life on board of a ship, the science of steam powered engines, navigation, model sail boat building, and more. Don’t miss the fun!

  • Ages: Entering grades 3 - 5
  • Dates: August 15 - 19, 2016
  • Hours: 9 am - 4 pm (drop off between 8:45 am - 9 am, pick up between 4 pm – 4:15 pm); Extended care offered evenings only, 4 pm – 5 pm.
  • Cost: Before April 30: $300 for members/$325 for non-members. After April 30: $325 for members/$350 for non-members. Optional extended care available for $45 for the week.
  • Registration: Begins February 29; early registration for MOHAI members begins February 8.
