There are lots of great hands-on programs available to enhance your museum visit, all free with regular museum admission. Families with young children can borrow one of our Gallery Packs at any time from the front desk, visitors of all ages can participate in our hands-on craft activities during Family Day events or on Free First Thursdays, and twice each month miniMOHAI transforms the museum into an engaging play space for kids ages 3-5. Can't get to the museum? MOHAI has a new Portable Museum Kit that's perfect to rent for use in preschool classrooms or learning co-ops. Developed from our popular Discovering Seattle Stories program and full of real artifacts and historic photos, this kit is a great way to introduce the story of Seattle's founding to your early learners.
Spend your summer vacation with MOHAI! This year we're teaming up with Pacific Science Center, Seattle Children's Theatre, and the Center for Wooden Boats to offer three brand-new summer camp programs for kids entering grades 2-6. Discover Seattle's past, explore its present, and dream up the city's future in one of our week-long day camp programs.
MOHAI is looking for creative and motivated teens that are interested in history and community engagement to join MOHAI's Youth Advisors! This team of ten high school students, ages 14-18 will meet regularly January-June to help research, collaborate, and be empowered to create a more teen-friendly museum. Members of MYA are paid a monthly honorarium and will be responsible for planning and implementing a culminating event at MOHAI in June. For more information about MYA, click the link above!
