Ignite the innovator within at MOHAI's Annual Innovation Breakfast on September 17, 2013! For the first time, this event will take place in our new home at Lake Union Park—a dazzling community space that explores our city’s past and the possibilities of our future.

This year's event will explore Seattle's pivotal role in the tremendous growth of the video game industry with a  panel of innovative experts who will share their experiences and insights from the field.

Charles Harper, Vice President of Business Development, Double Down Interactive

Charles Harper's core strengthens are in building and stregthening partnerships. For Double Down's parent company, IGT, Harper oversees the Social Gaming Partner Program, the globalization strategy, and strategic distribution partnerships with top tier companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Facebook. Harper has previously worked at Screenlife, WildTangent, and RealNetworks where he started his career in gaming nearly 14 years ago as a founder and head of Business Development for the then new RealArcade group, launching both the web site and the RealArcade client.  He is credited as selling the first online game advertisement. 

John Holland

John Holland, Chief Operating Officer, Big Fish Games

John Holland joined Big Fish Games in 2009 and is responsible for the company's global operations and worldwide licensing business, as well as Big Fish Games Studios.  Since joining, John has helped lead the strategic development of the company's iOS business, which grew triple digits in 2010.  In previous roles at Big Fish Games, John led the customer support and human resource departments. Before joining Big Fish Games, John spent the majority of his career in the financial industry, specializing in Internet, new-media, e-commerce, technology and consumer business models. John currently serves on the board of directors of the Washington Technology Industry Association.

Gabe Newell

Gabe Newell, Co-founder and Managing Director of Video Game Development, Valve Corporation

Gabe Newell is the President and co-founder of Valve Corporation, an entertainment software and technology company based in Bellevue, Washington. Valve has produced numerous industry-changing games including Half-Life, which has been named “Best PC Game Ever” by PC Gamer. In addition to producing best-selling entertainment titles, Valve is a developer of leading-edge technologies, such as the SourceTM game engine and Steam, a broadband platform for the delivery and management of digital content with over 50 million accounts.


Matt Shea, EVP Products and Technology, WildTangent

Matt Shea is the EVP Product Development and Head of Studio for WildTangent. He is a business founder of WildTangent Games, WildTangent Media and WildTangent Studios.  Shea is also a co-creator of WildCoins digital currency and holds numerous patents. Prior to WildTangent he was a Director of Engineering at Go2Net. He got his start in the games industry at Sony Interactive Studios, working on 3D graphics while earning a BS degree in computer science from the University of California at San Diego. He is a recent honoree of Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”.

Kiki Wolfkill

Kiki Wolfkill, Executive Producer, 343 Industries

Kiki Wolfkill is an Executive Producer at 343 Industries, the Microsoft studio responsible for the award-winning “Halo” entertainment franchise that has transcended video games to become a transmedia phenomenon spanning novels, comics, apparel and more. Kiki is a 17-year veteran of the video games industry, beginning her career as a motion graphics and cinematics artist. Prior to joining 343 Industries, Kiki was the Director of Art at Microsoft Studios and supported global development partners to help create some of the most visually-stunning and innovative games on the platform. Her past game credits include the “Forza Motorsport” and “Project Gotham Racing” franchises.
