Step 1: Choose your MOHAI experience
Explore the museum at your own pace. Pick up a gallery guide at the front desk to access our free audio tours (available in English and Spanish).
Enhance your visit with a guided tour of the iconic artifacts and stories on display in MOHAI's Grand Atrium, led by a docent or MOHAI staff member.
Take an in-depth look at a topic in Seattle's history in this 45-minute seated presentation delivered by a MOHAI staff member. Four topics available.
- Seattle 101: A survey of Seattle's history from Native settlement to the present.
- Seattle Icons: A fun look at 8 iconic places that make Seattle unique.
- Innovative Seattle: An exploration of the innovation process through the historical lens of some of Seattle's great inventors and innovators.
- Seattle Fashion History: MOHAI's Collections Specialist for Costumes and Textiles Clara Berg shows how Seattleites dressed and what that tells us about the city.
*PLEASE NOTE: 3 weeks advance booking is required for Guided Tours or Insights Presentations. Groups of any size may book a Guided Tour or Insights Presentation in advance; groups with fewer than 10 adults will be asked to pay regular admission rates.

Free First Thursday: Admission to MOHAI's main gallery is always free on the first Thursday of each month. No Guided Tours or Insights Presentations are available on Free First Thursday. If you plan to bring a self-guided group to Free First Thursday, please fill out the group visit form. We appreciate the advanced notice.

Cancellation Policy for Adult Group Programs:
Cancellations of Guided Tours and Insights Presentations must be made 72 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours will incur a $25 cancellation fee.
Step 4: Visit MOHAI!
Parking: There are multiple parking lots in the South Lake Union neighborhood surrounding MOHAI. Parking validation is available for visitors using the AGC parking lot on Westlake Ave N. Full transportation and parking directions can be found on our main Visit Us page. Please note that buses longer than 25-feet cannot access our parking lot to drop off passengers.
PLEASE NOTE: The footbridge in Lake Union Park is currently closed for maintenance by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Visitors to MOHAI who park in the AGC lot will need to walk south on Westlake Avenue N, past the bridge, and through the park to reach the museum. ADA parking is always available adjacent to the museum, accessible via the call box on Terry Avenue. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. Accessibility: MOHAI offers 6 ADA parking spots for visitors with the appropriate parking permit. MOHAI has two wheelchairs and two walkers available to borrow on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Exhibits: MOHAI has three permanent exhibits (True Northwest: The Seattle Journey; Maritime Seattle, and the Bezos Center for Innovation) and two galleries that feature temporary exhibits. Learn more about each exhibit here.
MOHAI's Compass Cafe serves a variety of hot & cold sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. Cafe seating can accommodate approximately 40 people inside, plus another 40 people outside during the summer months.
