Whether for documenting family history or a desire to incorporate rich stories into a memoir, film, or podcast, this two-part workshop will help you make of use of oral history as a medium for gathering meaningful material. In this first session, we will look at an overview of oral history and how it is used, including listening to examples from local oral history projects. We will begin to cover basic interview techniques and project design. This is a great opportunity to better understand the myriad uses of oral history and get your creative juices flowing! No experience necessary. Workshop is led by experienced oral historian Shelly Leavens.
