SIFF Crash Cinema and MOHAI are teaming up with you for a 1-day movie challenge! Start the day exploring the museum's collection and digital archives to inspire a short film of your design, then have access to the MOHAI galleries all day. Participants will work in teams to produce a film based on the prompt "History Is____". Come with your own group or team up with others at the event. Finish the day at SIFF Film Center to watch your film on the big screen! All films produced on this day will be eligible for submission to MOHAI'S History Is ___ film competition.
What do I need to bring? Each team must provide their own equipment including a video camera (can be a cell phone), a way to transfer footage to an editing system, computer with editing software, burnable dvd or flash drive.
Schedule:
- 9 am: Meet at MOHAI (860 Terry Avenue N) for an introduction to History Is ____ Crash Cinema
- 10 am - 4 pm: Make your film! Crash Cinema participants receive free admission to MOHAI all day.
- 4:30 pm: Meet at SIFF Film Center (located at Seattle Center) with your finished film
- 5 – 7:30 pm: Wrap party and screening (Admission is $3 for filmmakers and $5 general admission)
Cost: Program participation is FREE and includes MOHAI admission for participants. Wrap party and screening at SIFF is $3 for filmmakers and $5 general admission (collected at the door)

Crash Cinema is open to all ages and experience levels.
